PhilosophyTo grow the best possible fruit in our vineyard and to make the best possible wines from that fruit. Wines of integrity that showcase the character of our Shiraz and Mourvedre and our unique terroir. I believe that screw cap closures are the future. I believe that wines sealed under screw caps will develop just as wines develop under cork with just two points of difference. Firstly, evidence to date suggests that the wines may develop a little slower under screw cap, perhaps equivalent to a magnum under cork. Secondly, and most importantly, not only is cork taint (TCA) eliminated, but the sometimes significant bottle variation, which has caused much disappointment, and a fair degree of argument, will not be a factor. Following the overwhelming preference for screwcap for the 2002 Marius Shiraz and very positive feedback from consumers I have taken the decision to close all of our wines, from the 2003 Marius Shiraz, totally under screwcap Cheers, Roger Pike
